Καλως Ορισατε!
Only 38 days until Greek Festival 2015!
Greetings, from Parish Council President

Once again, the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake is pleased to host this, its 39th, Annual Salt Lake Greek Festival. We do so with great pride in our ethnic culture and heritage, with abiding faith in our spiritual underpinnings, but mostly, with deep humility and ongoing thanks to the community at large.

First, we thank our forebears who sacrificed so much to build our churches, Holy Trinity Cathedral in downtown Salt Lake City, and Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Holladay. Next, we offer sincere thanks to our clergy for their spiritual guidance and ongoing support for the community’s endeavors. Our ongoing thanks throughout the years we offer to the volunteers who help us in the exhaustive work of preparing for, and working through, the festival activities—truly countless man-hours and a labor of love. Finally, and equally important, a huge thank you to the entire community of Salt Lake City and surrounding areas who year after year attend and support our efforts. The surrounding community’s support helps us maintain our two church campuses, along with our outreach ministries, services and activities. Further this support enables us to make sizable contributions from festival proceeds to numerous local charitable organizations.

On behalf of the countless parish volunteers and friends, we want to invite everyone to take it all in and enjoy a long weekend among us, your friends. Enjoy our wonderful food, our excellent dance groups, and our enlightening church and museum tours!

Οπα, και στην υγεία σας! —Hooray, and to your health!

Dimitrios Tsagaris, Parish Council President
Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake

Welcome, from Father Matthew

I am deeply honored to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all visitors attending the ANNUAL GREEK FESTIVAL hosted by the GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF GREATER SALT LAKE. For nearly four decades hosting the Greek Festival, our parish faithful have continued to preserve the cherished traditions of our magnificent Greek heritage so that the vibrant spirit of our culture could be shared with you—the wonderful people of Salt Lake City and beyond.

Since its founding in Salt Lake City in 1905, clergy and parishioners of the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake have been dedicated to preserving the Greek Orthodox tradition and culture here. The descendants of the early immigrants continue to advance these core beliefs and traditions through their unwavering service, generosity, and untiring dedication to this great parish and city!

It is indeed a privilege to share with you the strong roots of our heritage beautifully displayed throughout our three-day Greek Festival celebration.

With Sincere Appreciation,
Fr. Matthew Gilbert, Senior Priest
